Meet the Artist
Hi, I’m Marijke from Antje, Artje and Me. I create unique hand embroidered jewellery, custom cross stitch portraits and home decor items. I have chronic Migraine and stitching is a way for me to relax and slow down.
Each piece is stitched using left over threads and fabric from larger projects. Although I utilise patterns more than once each piece ends up being unique as no stitch is ever perfect. It is the imperfections and mistakes which make each piece beautiful.
My work is inspired by nature, geometric patterns and my two dutch grandmothers, Antje and Artje. My grandmothers shared their love of all things needlework with me and I love using these traditional crafts in a modern way.
